A Fusion of Innovation and Tradition
In October 2024, a groundbreaking spirit named Legre™ Essence was unveiled in Milan.
This distillate is crafted from the Panama Geisha coffee plant, utilizing its flower, fruit, and green bean. The creation is a collaborative effort among botanical chef Alessandro Gilmozzi, fermentation expert Corrado Scaglione, coffee enthusiast Francesco Bernasconi, and U.S. micro-producer Justin Boudeman, founder of Longboard Specialty Coffee in 2015.
From Panama’s Highlands to the Italian Alps
The Panama Geisha coffee, renowned for its exceptional quality, originates from the Chiriquí highlands, nestled between the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean at the base of the ancient Barú volcano.
The distillation process incorporates water from the Trentino Dolomites, merging diverse terroirs to create a distinctive spirit.
The renowned Villa de Varda distillery, led by Mauro Dolzan of the sixth generation, oversees the distillation, ensuring a product of unparalleled clarity and purity.
An Exclusive Offering
Legre™ Essence is produced in a limited edition of 700 individually numbered bottles, each priced at €1,500.
Its unique composition defies traditional spirit classifications, prompting its creators to trademark the product.
This innovative approach positions Legre™ Essence as a novel category within the world of distilled beverages.
